Top-5 result for Justin Duty in Peoria MARS run
Justin Duty earned his best Super Late Model finish of the young season on Saturday when he took fourth place in the Midwest Auto Racing Series (MARS) Late Model Championship event at Peoria Speedway.
Duty was one of 30 MARS Late Model competitors at the quarter-mile track in Peoria, Illinois, for the Garry Swibold Memorial, where a $5,098 first-place prize was up for grabs. After qualifying second in his group aboard his Don Frank Floors No. 15 machine, Duty won his heat race from the pole. He started first in the 40-lap main event and ultimately came home fourth. He took the checkered flag behind Ryan Unzicker, Jason Feger and Mike Spatola, with Allen Weisser finishing fifth.
Friday’s slated MARS show at the Brownstown (Illinois) Bullring was rained out.
With the Peoria program in the books, Duty sits eighth in the MARS Late Model Championship point standings.
