John and Justin Duty visit Las Vegas Dirt Track for Duel in the Desert

Thursday saw both Double Duty Motorsports pilots, John and Justin Duty, return to action with the 25th annual Duel in the Desert at Las Vegas Dirt Track (Las Vegas, Nev.).

With 42 XR Super Series entries on the grounds for the event spanning over three-days, John failed to qualify for Thursday’s opener in his heat and B-Main while Justin edged his way into the feature with the third-and-final transfer spot in his consolation event. With $20,000 on the line, Duty was an early retiree from the 40-lapper on the sixth circuit.

For another round of prelims on Friday, John followed up a 10th-place performance in his heat race with an 11th-to-7th run in his B-Main, ending his night on a high note. Justin came in fifth in his heat before placing second in his consolation race. Starting the $20,000 preliminary feature in 20th, Justin advanced through the field seven spots in the 40-lap affair to cross the line in 13th.

On Saturday, both drivers had to battle their way into the $40,000-to-win finale in their B-Mains after John placed seventh in his heat and Justin pulled off early. Needing to place third or better, John came in sixth while Justin missed a transfer spot by one car after an impressive 10th-to-4th showing.
