Top-5 finish for Justin Duty at Red Hill Raceway
Justin Duty hit the road with MARS Late Model Championship on Friday and Saturday for a pair of shows in the Land of Lincoln. During the two-day swing, he grabbed one top-five result.
Friday’s program brought 21 MARS Late Models to the quarter-mile Kankakee County Speedway in Kankakee, Illinois, for the Big Daddy Scrap 40. Duty raced his Don Frank Floors No. 15 Super Late Model to fourth in his heat race and started 10th in the 40-lap, $5,000-to-win-feature. He ran into early trouble and registered a 21st-place result with a DNF.
Duty’s fortunes changed on Saturday when he competed in a 19-car MARS field as part of the Red Hill Rumble at Sumner, Illinois' Red Hill Raceway. He finished third in his heat on the 4/10-mile track, starting him fifth in the 30-lap, $5,000-to-win feature. He came home in the same position, rounding out the top five behind Tony Jackson Jr., Jason Feger, Shannon Babb and Ryan Unzicker.
Duty is in the fifth spot in MARS Late Model Championship standings.
